Jared Thomas, Monastery Chef
Jared was born in the Bronx. He got interested in cooking by watching and helping his aunt cook at a very young age. In high school Jared started cooking on his own due to both parents working and started to think of this as a career choice because not only was it creative but it was also therapeutic. After two years of college Jared took the leap of faith to attend Culinary School. After graduation Jared did an Internship with Chef Anthony for six months polishing his skills in fine dining. Fast forward 2 years he was called by Chef Anthony to run the monastery kitchen here at Reconnect.
Jared is a member of the James Beard Foundation and has traveled across the country doing events for them.
In his spare time Jared is an avid reader and music connoisseur. He still does pop up shops all over the five boroughs cooking his signature Carribean dishes!
